By now you probably feel like a Walking and Talking Prairie Encyclopedia! You have been exposed to a multitude of experiences with prairie plants and animals. This quest could go on forever, but now it is time for the fun part...the creation of your diorama! Brainstorm materials that can you gather from home or get from friends and relatives to make your Dream Prairie Diorama come true. List them in your log. Here is where creativity and reality combine and you show all that you have learned. |

You will have to plan times and places to work. Check your parents' schedules, and coordinate planning and working times. Store all of your materials in one area or container, and bring the prairie diorama to school when it ready. If you can only work at school, bring all plans and materials in to work at noon hours. If you need to stay after school to work, coordinate your plans with me, and I can provide work time for you, but you have to get your own rides home! |

Feel free to go back to any of the learning sites you have visited as you plan which animals and plants you want to include in your projects. Constructing your prairie mobiles will give a chance to compare and contrast the species that have adapted to either a short grass or tall grass prairie. You are only required to make one, but you can make one of each to show the diversity of each ecosystem. You will find the explanation and directions for the prairie mobiles at your next link! Go to the Language Arts/Fine Arts section and find Grade 5. Prairie Biome Mobiles
